Mashed Potatoes In the MICROWAVE

YOU WILL NEED

– 1 pound about 3 medium or 2 large russet potatoes – ¾ teaspoon salt  – ⅓ cup milk, half and half, or heavy cream – 4 tablespoons (56g) butter

STEP 1

Place potatoes in a microwave-safe bowl and add just enough cold water to completely cover them. Add salt and cover the bowl with an upside-down, microwave-safe plate.

STEP 2

Microwave for 10 minutes and allow to sit for 1 minute after the timer goes off.

STEP 3

Drain the potatoes and add butter to the bowl. Use a fork or potato masher to mash potatoes.

STEP 4

Add half of the milk or cream and stir until mixed. Continue to stir in more cream until the potatoes reach your desired consistency.

STEP 5

Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!
