HOMEMADE BEEF PASTIES

YOU WILL NEED

– butter – flour – granulated sugar – buttermilk – beef chuck – potatoes – carrots – crushed rosemary – oregano – onion – egg – milk

STEP 1

Combine flour, butter, and buttermilk in a food processor until it forms crumbs that just begin to clump together. 

STEP 2

Turn half the crumbs out on a piece of plastic wrap and press them into a 1-inch thick disk. Repeat with the rest of the dough and refrigerate for at least an hour.

STEP 3

Brown the beef on the stovetop. 

STEP 4

Add vegetables, water, and spices and simmer until potatoes begin to soften. Use cooking liquid to make a quick gravy and stir meat, vegetables and gravy together.

STEP 5

Divide dough into 6 even pieces and roll into disks. 

STEP 6

Fill dough with filling and crimp edges to seal the pasties.

STEP 7

Brush with egg wash and bake.

STEP 8

Bake until golden brown, serve, and enjoy!
