Ingredients

  • ½ to ¾ cup milk any percentage, divided
  • ¼ cup malted milk powder
  • 1 ½ cup vanilla ice cream about 3 scoops
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup or fudge sauce
  • Whipped cream optional for topping
  • Sprinkles optional for topping

Instructions

  • In your blender, combine ½ cup of the milk and malted milk powder. Pulse your blender 3-5 times, just until the powder is mostly mixed into the milk.
  • Add the ice cream and chocolate sauce and blend until combined. Use a spoon to stir the shake, and add the remaining ¼ cup of milk if it's too thick.
  • Serve topped with optional whipped cream and sprinkles, and enjoy!

Notes

This recipe will make one large restaurant-size shake or two smaller servings. Approximate nutritional information is for two milkshakes.

Recommended Variations

  • Vanilla malted milkshake: Omit the fudge sauce, and add the scraped seeds from ½ vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract.
  • Strawberry malted milkshake: Omit the fudge sauce, and add ¾ cup chopped hulled strawberries (fresh or frozen) and an optional 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar.
  • Oreo malted milkshake: Keep or omit the fudge sauce, and add 4 Oreos to the blender. Crumble an additional Oreo over the top when serving.
